it might be - especially if you have instability in the circuit already - if you can park the 22kΩ resister it as close to the tube socket as possible you're eliminating the chance of any noise forming across the wire...
Allright. Will be pretty easy to do. There is enought space anyway so strapping the resistor straight on the socket pin will be easy to do, and i guess that placing it on the tube socket, it will stop any oscillation before hitting the tube. If i would have place the resistor at the pot connection on the board, i would have had 4 inches of wire to pick up noise between the resistor and the tube, am i understanding correctly?
