Fusable Resistor ?

I found a bunch of these fusable resistors in the bottom drawer of a tube caddy I bought. I remember seeing them in Zenith TV sets at the repair shop, but I forpot how they work. Want to know if they would be of use in a tube pwr supply.
Anybody?
