I'm building a G9, well, it's a slightly tweaked G9, with a variable impedance transformer. One of the big changes is that I'm building it all point to point, and I have a question about the phantom power leg of the power supply.

The lower secondary from the power transformer (the lowest line on the schematic) is just labeled a 0v. I initially assumed that this was supposed to go to ground like usual, but nowhere is it labeled that it is grounded. What makes me think that it isn't grounded is that you would be shorting one of the transformer taps to ground, and isn't that usually a bad thing? But if it isn't grounded how could you get the +48v leg to work, or is it just grounded to the audio ground of the mic?

I imagine it's a simple answer, I just thought I would ask before I blow something up.

off course it's grounded.. you may want to look at the G9 layout to see where and when.

In a p2p-circuit, it's probably best to ground P48 at XLRin Pin3..

On the PCB it looks like it's just tied into the ground running the perimeter of the board. I usually just do a star ground, but I'll try grounding it to the audio ground.

Don't you mean pin 1?
