Yes all the components are on the topside.  The brown  looks to be a color dye on the board but I will check it again. 

I will trase down the rail and seek the caps that might be shorted.

I did a visit to Genelec headquarters some weeks ago. A friend engineer that was with me  had a broken transformer and power supply.  They replace it and told us that they have as policy keep parts for all their products and they can repair and take to spec all their products, I think that is impressive, Sony keep spares for 10 years as reference. 
The distribuitors (genelec in many cases) are the ones that should take care of the repairs.

if it is an easy fix I would try to fix it but I would contact them if it is more than an easy fix.
