I looking to buy a few of these and have a couple of questions about modding:
  1. The GAP website says the PCB is prepared for a Carnhill input transformer - but which one? I'm guessing VTB9045? I have a few of those lying around, so would be great if they could be used.
  2. I want to mod the mic input on the back to take line level signals. I'm guessing this could be done by slapping on a few resistors in the right places?
Thanks.

It could be either the VTB9045 or the VTB9045M, but you really have to ask GAP for a confirmation,
they would be the only one that really could tell the exact transformer.
You need to contact them

Best thing to do it to build and XLR barrel with a 40dbs pad (Line level to mic level), that way you don't mess with the Mic Pre, you can use both microphones or line level. just stick the barrel at the input XLR when using line level signals.
It's really cheap and easy to build, just 3 resistors and a barrel:

Right. I actually wasn't aware of the VTB9045M. Judging from pics I found online that might be the one they are using.

Great, i used to make boxes like Fearn LP line-mic pads with more positions, each requiring two connectors. That's alot of material and drilling compared to simple Switchraft S3FM barrels.
