We got the first review for our new design, the G21 - in September '13 issue of British Sound on Sound Magazine (still preview only for non-subscribers): http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep13/articles/gyraf-g21.htm

And related sound examples: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/sep13/articles/gyrafg21-media.htm

..I'm very happy to see that the author actually managed to get real in-depth understanding of the unit within the limited timeframe for the writing. After all, this is no ordinary beast by any standards..

Congrats! And with NO mains plug!

But ... but ... your enclosure-design looks utterly boring for such a "specialty" device. It lacks any mystique and doesn't spell "special".

Consider a "space age" redesign ... a "collector item", "signed" edition ...

It's probably not legal either way.

Cool!  Inspired by the RCA Power Max MI-34654?  Probably some European parallel too.  Looks great.

okidoki! let's not then!

Well done Jacob!  The sound samples show some really nice power there, subtle and natural.

Very interested ...what can you say about how it is done without revealing proprietary know how and secrets?

I looked at your site http://www.gyraf.dk and I know that it is a passive infundibulum (funnel, organ or filter)  but is there any technical explanation of how you are doing the compression/clipping?  Either specifically or generally?

... I went back and got access to the full Sound on Sound article and you are right it is pretty revealing.  But I think not too revealing so your secrets are safe.  A very clever design...  Seems like you were lucky to find a reviewer that could understand it enough to use it well.

Congratulations, the samples show it can accomplish a very pleasing and natural sounding compression (I know it is called soft clipping but isn't soft clipping a compression of sorts?)

First-hand customer feedback is starting coming in:

bruce0,

At this point I'd like to keep a bit of a lid on the technology - the SOS review reveals plenty already (The reviewer is a pretty sharp one) :)

Got Review'ed in Sound On Sound Magazine again:

We got the first review for our latest design, the G24 - in October '19 issue of British Sound on Sound Magazine (still preview only for non-subscribers): https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/gyraf-gyratec-xxiv

And related sound examples: https://dt7v1i9vyp3mf.cloudfront.net/assetlibrary/g/gyraf-g24-audio.zip?0kwEPGgof9wG2K9NywkuldqK5AXEEEpi

It was reviewed by the same guy that did the G21 five years ago, he did a great job on actually understanding what was going on in the unit..
