With all the changes Ethan is making perhaps the search function is not seeing the full old database?

Quite possibly. What I have now discovered is that "class D" works OK in the advanced search but not the simple one.

Ian, Try the Google Search (after clicking on the gear).

Many things here are about to improve. It's been a long time coming but I think it will be well worth the effort.

Not sure I understand that. I was trying to find any Class D stuff here in groupDIY - I thought the Google search does it worldwide so to speak.

Click on the gear next to the search bar, then there is a google search engine that using it from there will only get the "insite:" results for the forum.

I think Advanced really does use Google.

If you need fine control, go to Google and use the "site:" syntax

Google "class D site:groupdiy.com"

About 666 hits and they all seem to go here.

Looking forward to improvements.  I frequently can not find my own posts, when searching myself with a known title word.
