If we want to power the TURBO LED from an SSC board (instead of the Front Panel board)...
Maybe we could use the METER LED pins.
Or we could use the IN LED pins, but we would have to jumper the IN SW pins.

I will think more about your situation.
Yea thanks, I appreciate it.
Just tried to hook it up via ControlBoard and obviously it works.
So, I guess it’s just a matter of taste, if you want to connect Turbo LED to ControlBoard or second SSC.
If a jumper will allow it to work, then that’ll be an easy fix.

My bypass illumination is back, btw.
I don’t get it. Maybe the buttons are broken.

So, the LED issue is pretty much sorted.
To my compression. I think, the whole issue is that it’s not engaging when I push the button.
I hear a click from the relay though.
But it looks like it’s not engaging, because Turbo is not working and the make-up and threshold isn’t doing anything when they’re turned.

What do you think?
I tried to resolder Pot A and B without taking the ControlBoard out of the case. A little tight, so maybe it didn’t solder well

I think you're on the right track.
Check the ON / OFF / COM and POT A / POT B solder points.
Also make sure those relay leg extensions look OK too.

Just resoldered the com, on, off etc.
Still not working.

Relays legs (its own, not just the extension legs) have continuity on bottom side of pcb.

Do you think it’s a relay issue or a bad solder issue?

My LED is back to not working again

Okay, I changed the buttons with new ones, and it works. I guess the old ones had been thru some harsh times with me wiring them wrong many times.

And I shorted the In SW on the second SSC so the In LED now works and I measure -15V on those diodes that didn’t have any voltages before.

I also resoldered the com/on/off from the other side, so I have a better and permanent connection. But compression still doesn’t work.

Following this thread. Starting my GSSL build which I expect should go decently well. I've also got the turbo and two SSC boards, along with components and chassis ready to go.

Will be starting next week. Hope you guys figure this out, because the interconnection of these four boards has me a bit puzzled too, with conflicting information available at best.

Welcome to the thread. I wish you well on the journey.
I believe that bundy succeeded with the diagram. It should be correct.
Me, not so much.. something went wrong during the installation of the two SSC boards.
I had my stock gssl working, then added Turbo and it was still working.

We're figuring out at the moment and trying to troubleshoot my unit.
Compression is just not activating when I engage the ON button.
When we figure it out, I'll post a final picture of the diagram wiring for everybody.

EDIT: my unit is now fixed. I had ordered a wrong relay!

✅ Here's the final diagram, tested & verified ✅

● Power -15 | 0v | +15 (left side of SSC board), goes to bottom side of Main-pcb
L and R are shorted/connected

LEFT SSC only:
Ret: goes to bottom or top side of Main-pcb (where 47K used to be)
COM/OFF/ON, Pot A & Pot B are connected to Control-pcb
In SW: to/return for Bypass-button
In LED: goes to Bypass-buttons LED poles, "positive" & "negative"
Meter LED

RIGHT SSC
only:
Ret: goes to Turbo-button as COM.
Meter LED: goes to the small pins on the back of your Meter
In SW
: is shorted, in order for the In LED to work
In LED: goes to Turbo-buttons LED poles,"NO" and "negative" ("COM" & "positive" is shorted)
Relay is not necessary -only one is needed for one SSC board
COM/OFF/ON, Pot A & Pot B only one board needs these connected to Control-pcb

You need a double (2) deck Rotary switch for sc-filter selection, with 1 Pole & minimum 7 Position for each deck.
My rotary switch (2 Pole, 11 Position), I got cheap from Wish.com

· Turbo board from: Expat Audio (US) $15
· Components from: Mouser $25

· SSC boards from: Pcb Grinder (DK) 2x €12
· Components from: Mouser 2x $25

· Frontpanel & chassis enclosure, button & meter kit from: Don Audio (DE)

Pictures from my finished project can be found here

Well done! I’m so glad to see this, as im finally starting the build tonight!

How’s it all been working since?
Hopefully all the info here will be sufficient.

I haven’t used mine yet -still waiting for the frontpanel to arrive so I can assemble my unit and post some pictures.
