Just wondering anyone here have build a speaker simulator that really sounds good and worth doing... I'm putting togheter a 1U guitar toolbox and wanna include this.

now it is:

API buffered DI -> stomps (sansamp/tube screamer/bigmuff/rat) -> Neve out -> SPKR sim.

Hi,

After having messed around with a few (but no Palmers etc) I must admit ( :!: uncool words coming up :!: ) that I haven't heard a better one so far than in my $1 Beh. V-Amp2...

While it's not the real deal I decided to live with it and it's defin. good enough for throwing down ideas on tape/disk.
Hmm, that's not really doing it justice... it's really steps up from those tailored LPF-filters I tried before. And the first box that actually gave me the impression I was near an amp.
You can configure it in various ways: skip the amp-emul and/or speaker-emul.

Surpisingly the V-Amp Pro has for certain configs an analog filtering circuit...

When I want better ... I mic a real amp !

Bye,

Peter

Yea, Pete, I feel this way about it...

Uhm... let me put it in a different way. I'm after some sim. that sounds good, where you can create some sounds. I'm not after mimic the cabinet+mic situation... it's just that sometimes I don't want that amp+mic sound or wanna complement that with a interesting direct sound.

Hmm, dunno.... how about a stereo 31-band graphic EQ with both channels cascaded ?

Or any other wild filtering setup... x-overs, parametrics.

Introducing x-overs can give you all kinds of // signalpaths with different processing and endless possibilities and you can sell your bed and have more room to put all that nice gear- & DIY-stuff there because you won't ever find time to sleep again and.. and... and...    :!:

Sorry

complement that with a interesting direct sound.
Talking about filters: If you're into that kind of thing, an envelope controlled filter is nice to toy around with. It'd can be very subtle (like just blending in a bit of 'movement') to 'interesten-up the sound' to - you know it - full-on, but then we're more talking about an FX instead of colour.

yea! filters! accepting suggestions of circuits like this. Like analog synth filters right?

IC tapeout?! No, thanks! :)

How about this one?

I haven't tried any of these guys' stuff but they get rave reviews on Aron's Stompbox Forum.

I already have an H&K Tubeman which is why I'm not making one of these. The Tubeman has a speaker sim included.

here is tubeman's speaker sim

Hi Fabio,

Right, but as you know they come in many flavours. If you can find the element a Mutron-III clone will be interesting (but replacements exist - wasn't it just LDR+LED ?) And there are many others, like the Moog-style ladder filter or as simple as something OTA-based (CA3080, LM13700...).

When's your next ? Let's hope your next one is many moons away. :thumb:
