Underappreciated soul & funk legend.  We shared  a hometown--as  a kid I'd read about his latest record in the local paper.  Saw him play/met him a few years back.

I'd not heard of him before now , I listened to a few of his albums today , I do enjoy discovering lost gems from the funk and prog rock era.
