i need to add additional pot so i can adjust my headphone level...

thanks

Yes on flea bay type LADDER ATTENUATOR.  Valab is selling them for $28- USD plus $5- shipping to the states. Very impressive piece; using in the new very H.Q. headphone amp. I am starting to manufacture; to order only.

Additional pot where? Between the headphone amplifier output in the Central Station and your headphones?

then you need an L Pad, something whose impedance won't drag down your headphone amp. I don't know if the Presonus can drive 8 ohms, but something like this is what you want. (I do not endorse that product or amazon, I'm just using it as a reference.)

I like JR's idea of a separate headphone amp.

OMG, i would never think it would be this complicated

i really didnt wanna spend more then couple of dollars.

i have so many spare parts from robotics. i think i am gonna hook up a tiny DC gearHead, with a belt.
aint gonna look good but,  its gonna be cheaper.

thanks for the replies

I've never seen inside of the Central Station, but unless it's cramped in there I would think you could disconnect the headphone volume pot and instead connect some twisted pair plus shield (mic cable, etc) in it's place, with the shields being connected to the side that goes to GND. Fly that out to wherever you want the new knob to be and install the same type pot (probably 10k or 100k log) wired same way as factory pot was and mount it in a nice little box or to a blank 19" rack panel within reach. IF space is a premium inside the CS, maybe use "console cable" instead. Mogami makes some insanely tiny wire that will fit just about anywhere.

Well to be really inexpensive you could stuff variable amounts of cotton into your ears to make it softer.  Remove the cotton to make it louder again.

My suggestion to add a cheap external headphone amp does not put the resale value of your system at risk with a modification that may not work and/or be hard to remove.

Opinions vary. Do what you like.

i have same one back home, and i blew up one channel, so i had to open it for repair... its painful to take it a part...

its sitting under Lynx, with 1U spacer, i am adding external dc motor on to that panel, with belt,
to me it would be much easier.

looking fwd to photos of the Rube Goldberg headphone amp  ;D

You should build a mic placement robot while you're at it!

i can build that in my sleep, not a problem. i was gathering parts for kick drum mic arm couple weeks ago, from my spares...
but this unexpected sudden move messed all my plans...
i was also working on VST/MIDI control for rudetube, and STA (or any analog gear with suitable current on pots)
ayy yay yaaaayyyyy  ;D

Ah! I remember reading that the other day. I hope you find the time to make the MIDI/recall thing happen. That's going to be insane if it works!

oh thats already working, i didnt have time to make demo video.

this little baby gonna save my day :)
