Does anyone know what connector type this is used in a Helios monitor section?

I'm referring to the large connectors with one and two written beside them.

I never seen that connector before.
Maybe someone like Cyril Jones could provide some info

Do you have an Helios Console?
I just messaged Cyril the other day asking for some info, I will forward this question along to him as well.

I just bought the monitor section as it was all that was available.

I'm not certain, but believe it is the monitor section from the Island mobile unit.

Does any Helios user here know what happened to the Island Mobile console?

There was an amazing thread in PSW forum on Helios, it was long and had a lot of info, I think it was called "The Helios thread", I can't find it now because that forum seems to be down at the moment

If you mean the RE/P Forum on PSW, it's working, but they've done some updates (like, last night) and you may have to jump through a hoop or two to access it. Me, I got a skill testing question to prove I'm not a robot. A quick search for "Helios" turned up a lot of results.

Thanks guys. I'll try sifting through that thread again. I was looking at that yesterday, but unfortunately could not see the pics linked throughout the thread.

Unfortunately the photos are long gone, it's a shame as there were amazing pics , but the info is all there.
Do you have a link to that thread?

I cant seem to find it

Found this pic of the Island Mobile on the net (Pinterest) of the mobile... If anyone knows of an article in an old recording magazine, I may be able to help as I have hard copies of Studio Sound, dB , RE/P, and Mix etc. going way back to the mid 1970's.

I am not aware of any specific articles yet. If I stumble on any info I will definitely let you know.

That's a great pic of the console!

Crispin from Helios looked through documentation and was unable to find schematics but said he will send me some pics he found when he gets them scanned. I will post what he sends.

Well, as luck would have it...these are not Plessey connectors. At least not any that I have found.

From the research I've done they appear to be a hermaphroditic type connector that I cannot find anywhere.

It's looking like I'm going to have to do this the hard way. I really didn't want to replace the original connector...

Does anyone else know what they are?

Painton? Like used for the early Penny and Giles faders. Neve used them a bit.

They look a bit like the Tuchel connector used on the MCI desks. I have a box with some of them in it in my storage unit. Could grab it next time I'm there.

I will look into both of those. I originally stumbled on the Plessey Jones connectors when searching Painton and thought that I had found it. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ike, if you happen to go there before I post here that I've found them that would be great! Thank you again.
