Semi-retired newbie here. Spent years teaching and working at leading Indian, US, and EU scientific institutions. Work has taken me to some of the most remote, highest, and deepest corners of mumma earth.
Audio DIY is a recent fascination and in the past few months, I’ve collected a few things. Have also owned a couple of tube amps and preamps bought from my seniors. Our campus communities are known to be non-hoarding thrifty 4R champions.
I can solder, take some readings off meters, string some wires. Hopefully that’s a decent starting point. More importantly, have a healthy respect for high voltages, potentials, joules and things that can generally zapt across an air gap.
Currently oscillating between a few locations in Asia and Europe, scouting for a permanent base for sundowners and a deep dive into this.
Cheers for now!
