My amek Einstein 24 channels has some issues.
When monitoring through monitors i had sound only on 1 monitor right side.
couldnt find anything else that the MAster section had some serious issues...burnt traces.
I bought another master section E40...installed now sound has gone nuts...nothing at all!
Im trying to figure things out but its getting over me.

Anything i should look after?
Thanks.

IIRC lots of ribbon cables in there, very easy to have them in the wrong spot. I recall a story from an ex-amek tech who said that one time in testing a console before shipping one channel didn't work at all. turns out the ribbon for channel one had been connected to channel 2 and this went all the way down to the end. Had to remove and reconnect all the channels to fix it.

Also make sure your voltages are correct. Start there.  much like the other thread on the rainderk, having some extender cards will make the job smooth and easier to test.

Depending on the age of the console, there were a bunch produced which had LOTS of rail-stabilizing capacitors which went bad over time, and failed short. They're small and yellow, and you'll find pairs of them close to each grouping of op-amps.

If one of those has failed short, it burns up some little 10Ω (or thereabouts) resistors or PCB traces... Use an extension cable and see that all chips are getting power on their appropriate pins, then go from there.

This will apply to the replacement as well as the original master section... these things also tended to fail with being powered on after they'd been powered off for a while.
