So I have one of those old valve mic pres I procured from somewhere a while back (I believe they're salvaged from tape machines)
The thing sounds great, I love it, but it has no XLR and no phantom so I only end up using it as a funky DI.
But I also have a GAP pre 37 where the amp section has gone and repair is beyond my abilities, but I thought why not use the phantom/stepped attenuator/input/output transformers etc.
Would my best bet be soldering straight to the transformer solder pads on the amp side? Or would there be a smarter place?
Schematic anyone?
