I pulled out my old o'scope and tried to fire it up, but found that the fuse holder cap is missing. I have some caps about, but I don't know what value fuse to put in. No manual, no documentation of any kind.

Any ideas?

Hi,

cool old scope.

2 amps for 110 or 1 amp for 220 according to the manual.

The HP Archive has the manual to download. I have it on my hard drive because there was one on Ebay recently I was thinking about.

Take care

Hi,

it's a pretty old piece of equipment. Worth fixing though.

Lots of switches to clean and caps to check for leakage. Normal for gear built fifty years ago. ::)

There is a test equipment section in the "Antique Radio" forum that might prove very helpful to you.

Take care.

I hope you don't need to be warned that a careless moment inside the case will kill you!

Yeah, that's a great old tube scope, very sensitive and great for audio work. I have the solid state version. Obviously, it's the usual suspects regarding any old tube gear. There's a group on Yahoo dedicated to old HP gear if you look for it. I used to have a bunch of old tube test gear. I always wanted one of these scopes but never found one. Hope you get it working.

Hi,

sadly the postage to Ireland is so expensive.

Even so, I have a 200ab and a military 410b that would look great sitting on top of one of these.

If you don't feel like fixing it.........

Take care

I'd certainly love to have it also if you want to get rid of it. I'll gladly pay postage. I'm in Virginia.

Hi dirkwright,

I was hoping you would say that. :)

A 49lb box that only reaches 200KHz is not for everyone!

If Isaac42 responds maybe we can help him fix it.

I just hate thinking of it finding itself in a dumpster.

Take care
