Hi Ethan,

I tried to get on the Prodigy Pro Audio website tonight to look at headphones but I couldn't. Just wouldn't load. Is it down for some reason or is it me?

Thanks

:guinness: :sam:

Hey Seth,

Hmmm...
Strange...
I don't see any downtime in the logs, I would've gotten an email.

I know there are some issues with older outdated browsers, what broswer/OS are you using? If you still have a problem, I'll look into it. If you're looking for something cheap and cool, I just took home a pair of these for myself: http://www.groupdiy.com/detail.aspx?ID=84 Good stuff. The only things I put in my ears are those and the ER-20 plugs.

Admin,

Do those provide enough isolation for loud drummers during tracking? I'm actually looking for something that goes in my ears (for better isolation than headphones), for myself to use while practicing drums to either click tracks, my music, or other people's music (cd playback).

BTW, when I clicked on your link, it seemed like the site hung for about five seconds before loading. I've been to the site a few times before, and never experienced any lag like that...

Oh, and I use Camino...which is basically the same thing as Netscape 6.x I think...

Tubejay,

I'm a little different in that when I play drums I want almost complete isolation so that I almost can't hear my drums. I wear earplugs then isolation metrophones on top of them. So for me, the isolation of the hearbuds aren't enough, but everyone's different. Most drummers don't like as much isolation as I do.

That is most likely because the site is based in ASP.NET. It takes a few seconds to initially load, then from then on its usually zippy. Currently the latest version of Internet Explorer 6 handles it well, many other older browsers don't take to it very well. I suppose it is a little ahead of the times, but ASP.NET will become a new big standard in the next few years.

Hope that helps!

Ethan,

I'm with you on that, that's exactly what I'm looking for. I actually mic up my kit, and would prefer to not hear the drums at all. I know that's not possible, but I'd love to hear what you've come up with!

Thanks,

Jay

Hi Ethan,

Metrophones was exactly what I was going to look for, for my kid. The site hangs when I go there and it never loads. I'm using Mac OSX 10.3.3 and IE 5.2.3. I've been there before, because I've bought stuff from there. Maybe it was before I installed 10.3, though. I'm not sure. Maybe there's an IE update? Not holding my breath on that.

Thanks

It seems to work fine with Safari - must be IE. I'm not heartbroken.

Yeah them Macs just don't always want to cooperate with MS standards (or is it the other way around ) Both necessary evils. With so many browsers and operating systems, it's a constant pain  trying to find the best compromises between old and new standards.

Thanks for letting me know guys!
