How to test a power TX?

Whats a proceedure for checking if a torroid power TX is blown or not ? thanks.

Check for continuity (i.e. connection) through all windings to find broken connections. Check for isolation between individual windings.

Then:

Power on the primary, leave secondary unloaded, wait an hour or two. If transformer gets hot to the touch (more than say 60degrees C) there may be a partial short in one winding somewhere.

continuity seems to be ok. However with 240V on the primary, I am not getting any voltage readings on the secondaries...

On would presume its time to bin it ?

Does this transformer have dual primaries?

Verify that they're connected properly. If one is backwards, it'll cancel the other.

If continuity is alright, and it dosen't get hot, then the transformer is working.

What you need is to know how it should be hooked up.
