Let me heat up you, folks,
with these pic's:
http://www.geocities.com/igor_jazz/225433609.html
:)))

BTW: is there's here people who want to buy the kits
(pcb's + front pannel + box + vu-meters)?

Igor, you need a proper hosting...
these geoscities pages keep stopping to work due to excessive data trasfert.
Actually i don't have some space to offer you, i should have some more soon.
Anyone here could offer him some space now? this 33609 clone looks damn damn cool, it deservs an optimal accessibility :)
great stuff Igor, really!!! impressive!!!

UPDATE..

doing some maths, seems that i could temporarely help here anyway..
Igor, please, send me the whole page, including images zipped at kruz_at_beatbazar_dot_com so that i can set up a simple mirror of your actual page.
Thank you Igor!!!!

Thank you, folks, for your help and advice!
I love this forum!!!!!
(hopefully, you get the pic's, Kruz?)
:))))

Ok, saw the pics (thanks kruz)! Looks great!

So which is this? 2254 or 33609?? Are they the same? Care to share the schems? If so, post the link(s) and I will put them in the Neve Meta Thread:

Cool Igor!!

IIRC this is a cut n' shut 33609 and 2254 - something like output stage of 2254 and the rest 33609??

I would be interested in PCBs only I think........is all of the iron standard Neve and available from Carnhill?

This is most excellent!

Cheers Tom

There was a lot of info on 2254 and 33609 here.
There's people who can explain it better,
my english... can be better:)))
Roughly:
Soundpath:
both used 31267 before/10468 after diode bridge(g.r. circuit).
2254 based on ba 283 classic Neve class A SE circuit in makeup amplifier;
two transistors current booster after g.r. circuit.
33609- ba340/440(discrete transistor class AB PP )
or later versions- ba640(opamp+2 transistoes)
as makeup amplifier;
two low noise fets added to
current booster to higher its inp. impedance.
Sidechain:
compressor sidechain allmost same.
2254 used different limiter sidechain,
with transformer+2 diodes rectifier, and
all 2254's sidechain a bit hard to DIY.
33609 have more time constants.
33609 have no transformer in limiter rectifier circuit.

Of course, this is not full answer on this subject,
try to search internet- there was a lot of info.

I did this project with ba283 at soundpath;
2254 current booster after g.r.
(and, compared to 33609 current booster,
it sounds more interesting) and 33609 sidechain.
(btw, previous project was 33609 clone:)))
The 225433609 sounds VERY nice; 33609 clone done with
transformers removed from 3m tapemachine
maybe bit more transparent, but have no all "this"
famous coloration...
Hope this helps.
Igor.
hopefully, you get the pic's, Kruz?
yes igor.. pics arrived.. i'll upload them as soon as i will be in studio.. i can't do uploads here (i'm at home).. i'll post later the links here.
Thank you very much igor.. this project looks really promising!!

Igor-

That's a damn nice looking piece! I would be very interested in a kit (or two!) if you decide to do some. I especially like the black knobs/black panel/white lettering. Looks sharp!

Zach

It would be great to get boards for this. I would vote however, to include the ba283 on a single board, it would be nice to sit this in a 2RU chasis. A kit would be cool, but I woudnt want to be locked into that chasis size or having to use those meters... Space is becoming such an issue... I'll admit though, its a pretty good damn feeling to sell some "vintage" gear to make room for something I built!

Very nice work!
Like the Schurter knobs! Same knobs that I use for the units that I sell but with different colors! Wish the keept the old moulding tools for the unskirted wingknobs! Looks exactley like the big "K2" wingknob but without the innerskirt!

There is some small mods that have to be donn to get the 2264 sidechain to work properly with the BA283 as gainmake-up!
If you use the original Limiter switch from a 2264 you have to modd the limiterside chain! In a 2264/33609 the unbalanced output feeds the limiterswitch and that output is 8 dB below the mainout!
With a BA283/LO1166 you will feed the limiter with a signal that is 4dB higher! And to get the right passthrough level you have to lower the gain a bit in the last stage! ( if you use the fet impedance matching circuit from the 2264! adds alittle extra gain)

Rock On! :sam:

Completely agree.
If you investigate PCB, you see a pair
of resistors after"lim.thd."

If this project still interesting for some people here,
the best way to make whole thing working good
and tested not once looks like this:
1. I will send zipped .pdf with pcb layout to
two or three serious people (those who really
feel good with this project - it is not simple!)
and ONLY this way we will know that there's no any mistakes here.
(I prefer do not publish layout done only once.)
2. After it is working, tweaked and polished
not once- let's put this project at Kev's or Gyraf's site
(if they agree  Kev? Yakob? ) as DIY non-profit project.
Of course, with disclaimer "in educational purpose only".

What do you think, people ???

Igor, I am sending you a 10 lb box of Halva!
You like the vanilla or chocolate?
cj

Those black guys look kinda like a really old HA 100-X, but I guess they are the power transformers?
:guinness: :sam:

Hi CJ!
Chokolate will be good...:green:
But what is 10lb ? Even not a one day doze...

No, they are molecular intruzers screwed from Soviet soubmarine
and sold at Zimbabve's blackmarket.
