I have a transformer which is labelled 600ct : 10k or 2500

I presume that the 2 secondary windings would be the the same (2 1:2 windings)  and therefore I can connect them together and use the join as a centre tap to connect to the input of a vari mu compressor.
When I measure the DC resistance of those 2 secondary windings I have 209 ohms and 300 ohms. They are so different - will this be a problem when using in a vari mu circuit??

Hi Tardishead,
I think the resistance is different because one set of windings is wound over the other and therefore on a larger diameter, this will make a higher resistance even though the number of turns is the same.  I have observed this effect on several transformers.  To check it out, put a small ac voltage on the primary and see if you get the same voltage on both legs of the secondary.

By the way, when you sent me an email recently, I tried to reply but your inbox was full and it bounced back.
