.... do the "Roll Music Super Stereo" and the "Chameleon Labs 7720" look almost exactly like the GSSL ??
( even the case/meter and etching on the Roll )

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more , I'm sure there are .
Did the roll guy hang here at one time ?

The Roll is different.  I have one and yes they use to hang here a looooong time ago.  The Roll is cleaner and their own take on a VCA comp. 

Chameleon labs is know for straight up ripping off designs so that could be the same thing as any number of things with cheaper parts in it.
