hmmmm, maybe early 60's there too.

I was lucky enough to happen upon this great article by Fletcher.
Then I got real lucky and came across GroupDIY.
It was like a one-two punch.
The two went together very well.
Now I am slave to DIY and forum.
Could be worse I guess. :thumb:

I can't remember but I think I used the BC184's - same transistor as used in the Neve BA283 boards. They routinely have beta values above 600. I flipped the PNP stage upside-down and made it so I could use two NPN transistors instead, and that worked fine. The output transistors I think I used some 2SC3940A's for the outputs.

thanks for the comments.
somewhere i read that using transistors with large Rbb is a consideration.
can someone explain this ? i think 4401's were mentioned.
