Just recieved a box of tubes

A guy just gave me a box of tubes as a bonus for recording one of his friends' album. Most of these are N.I.B. Anything remarkable in here for mics or mic/line preamps? Anything collectable I should just sell?

I'm not too well versed in tube types.

Kind of a mix between good stuff and junk.

Obvious:

5r4, 6v6, 6l6, 6sn7,

the reg tubes work in 670 pwr supply or old HP test equipment.

Thats avbout it.
Most 2 or 3 bucks at Antique, but some might be expensive, Tung Sol 6L6 etc

6SN7, 5V4, 5Y3 are also nice to have around. Seems like a decent score to me.

Actually, CJ, I see a lot of good stuff and not much junk.

For instance, 6146W is definitely worth something. And there's some "O" series voltage regulator tubes and a few more goodies.

the "1N" part numbers look like solid-state diodes to me.

Might test those E80F Telefunkens for noise in mic duty. They fetch at least $20 each on Filthbay.

Must admit I hadn't heard about that Nativity In Black before. I'm afraid I'll never be able to listen to that song without having to think of tube-boxes :wink:

Still couldn't find any info on a G-9 or B-H tube...

I'm eyeing up the 6SN7 and the 6J5 for preamps/mics.

Also, I'm guessing that a pentode will take on the properties of a triode when strapped for triode use.

OD3's are purty when they glow. I believe the fill gas is Argon.
