Lab power supply blowing fuses 220vac ?

Any body got any info on this Immunoelectrophoresis power supply it was made by national instrument laboratories, need a schematic keeps blowing fuses. model  5-2011

Fixing things without a schematic is half the fun... ;D

Look for obvious suspects... ; Shorted diodes, shorted caps, power devices, etc.

A VOM is your friend.

Look for any signs of high temperature or released smoke.

[edit}  if you have a variac bring it up with reduced mains voltage and look for what is getting hot. [/edit]
 
Just had a look,the tx smells like it is burning , warming up without any secondary load  :mad:, the transformer has  sec 1 ,800vac  , sec 2: 400vac  sec3: 400vac  ,sec4:175 and two filament taps both 6.3vac , this tx will be a pain in the as... to get the mains transformer is made by Haberman, any body know that company.
