I found this rather strange way of building a peak level meter. In 1961, someone apparently needed a Siemens Lichtzeigerinstrument, but couldn't afford it. Enter a solution with an oscillograph crt!
If I can find a fitting crt, I'd love to make this myself (twice, if possible! - I can't afford a Lichtzeigerinstrument either). Sounds like it should look really cool, but I didn't find any more pictures than those on said website (I don't know the owner of the website, I only wanted to share this link).
Has anyone ever heard of something like this?
