hi,

if anyone has a service manual or schema for DOD R-880 Dual Delay please let me know.

gettin a faulty unit soon and just wondering if it has any unobtainable parts.

thanks,
J

yep, or at least a bit pricey.

havent received the unit yet but read that the pcb&circuit is quite simple.

my guess is that it's somewhat similar to DOD DualDelay 585 pedal. that one has the following chips:

NE571 compander
NE511 op amp
MN3005 bbd
MN3101 clock

and TL022, CD4007 so should be fixable even if some chips have fried.

I dunno if this will help, but I have either a cut sheet, or really short four-page manual or something on the R-870, it has a basic block diagram. Shows a "512 BBD" and a "4096 BBD"

I'll attach, it might help, probably not. I have no idea of the differences between the 870 and 880.

I also have that DOD R-870 around here somewhere, can find and take pictures of the guts, get chip numbers, if it helps. It is around here somewhere. Maybe behind the couch.

Note: if the attachment here is anything other than "DOD R-870 block diagram.jpg" that is different than 839,034 bytes, DO NOT OPEN it.  I just spent all day getting rid of a virus that I may well have gotten from here (someone's link did nothing, can't find it to report), and finally had to resort to a Windows restore point. It might not be fully gone.

Shoulda wore a condom.

Edit: link looks OK. Just wat to be sure I don't spread bad stuff.

thanks for your replies.

finally got the unit. this one uses external power supply that has gone missing, but i think it should be +18V DC.

probably a super simple fix, the power switch itself is broken plus one wire was attached to it using scotch tape so the connection probably wasn't the greatest.

it uses a bunch of RC4558 op amps plus LF351, 2x MN3005, NE571, 2x CD4013.

i will fire it up when i find a psu and and maybe a new switch.

attached you'll find a pic of the guts, very similar to the R-870.

thanks,
J
