BTW, I am looking for some wiring info on the SLBE 1 monitoring module any one heard of this piece?

Got it! That finnish thing looks neat. I have some of the exact Jørgen Schou powertrannies, they're used by Denmark's State Radio as well. I'm pretty sure the input trannie is JS too. He used that housing for some of his models.. dunno 'bout the output trannie though. Looks cheap!

Uses the exacts same housing as Denmark's Radio as well. Could they have been made in DK?

Schematic, anyone? :green:

Whow.....thanks again! :thumb:

schematic would be lovely if that's not too much to ask..... :green:
you can email me here

Thanks! :thumb: :guinness:
V75 would nice too
is this your own development ? could you send the schematic ?

I guess it's a mixture between the V74 and the V76, maybe a first class tubed MicPre with a great tubed compressor - a combination like V76 with U73. but because it's you I guess there is a passice filter set with tubed output stage added. sounds very interesting, let us see it ... :green:  :green:
Do you have the W394 & W393 high and lowpass filters?
here they are :

"]I don't think never ending, but there's much more to come... The advantige of working for the oldest german radiostation. If I would start to scan the old Braunbuch it will take years!
Ok, three days passed by. Are you done with scanning the Braunbuch?

Just kidding!

are you looking for something special ?

Yes, the Braunbuch itself, the holy bible of audio! If you find a spare copy of the Braunbuch, drop me a line. I need three hours to get to whereever it is located in Germany!

I can't send you a copy of the Braunbuch, I have to entertain you with small pieces of it ...
until now no schematic I have posted was out of the Braunbuch ...

Yes, I second that!

Already I have spent many, many, interesting hours reading the schematics from you, "Silent".

So much stuff that I've wondered how actually worked..

Thanks a lot!

Jakob E.

I think the V75 is a 4:1 tube mixer/summer. Not my own gear

I second everything Jakob said :thumb:

I still don't get how the U373 works though :?

Thank you for the W393 & W394 too! :thumb: Really great filters..

How about the Filtek/BFE BC180 dual limiter? I like this one. Gotta be the worlds smallest meters :green:

Filtek_BFE_BC180.jpg

Yes, they do sound nice! Don't have any schematics. I _think_ it's FET based. There's also an NE5532 + a TL074. Not discrete and hardly vintage. Made in 1984. I've only seen 'em for sale at Astroman but I think he's outta biz :?:

Kinda slow but in a luvly musical way. I've build seperate makeup amps. Takes +/-12 to 15V.

The meters always get stuck at max GR when I use 'em, so have to smack the box gently :green:

me neither! the u373a is different, i partly understand that one, but this u373 here...? :?:

www.vintagecity.de has a V75 for sale.. I've breadboarded that V530, nice one! We got the schematic, but thanx for the entire litterature :thumb:

Say, did they ever make any gates?

I don't know any Telefunken etc gates, but the Neumann U473 has an Expander built in. Maybe in some BFE / Filtek / Barth compressors.

kubi, can you pm me your email?
found a scan of u373a... not the best quality, but anyway, wanna email it to you for your site.

ehm... are there tube based gates? as for dynamics, you keep getting limiters/compressors, but as for expanders or gates, i dunno. none of the german stuff, at least. anyone know what it's like with the u.s. stuff?

solid state expanders are e.g. to be found in filtek bke comp's.

I have done a bit of research on this and the earliest commerically available noise gate I can find is this...
http://pixelmemory.us/~martingriffith/kepex.htm
And that dates from 1972
Considering the tubes->transistors switch in Telefunken was in the 1960s I doubt wether there were any Telefunken gates at all
Ia m supriased as most of you as to the 1972 date!!

That Kepex looks.. err.. odd  :?

I didn't think there were any TFK/Siemens gates but strange modules keep popping up, so you never know

Gates could be made before '72 but I guess no-one needed them? I only need one for my U374a <secret weapon> and that one is noisy as hell. I usually edit out the bits, but that is impossible on tape :green: And I don't have a DS-201 anymore..

So, I'd luv a TFK style gate really

Hmm, the U374a - a secret weapon?
This is one of the few Ux7x compressors I don't have in my collection (yet).
Would you mind sharing some insight on the strong points of this box?

Thanks so much.
