One of my HR824 monitors suddenly stopped reproducing low frequencies, and I narrowed it down to a problem with the woofer. The woofer measures 3.4 ohms, just like the working woofer in my other HR824, but it plays back at very low level. Is this a common failure mode for a woofer? I would think that they would just go open, or short out and exhibit a different resistance.
At any rate, since the VIFA p22wp woofer isn't available any more I will just keep the unit for parts, since the amp still works.
