hmmm I figured the PCB would fit but then again this is without a light or PCB in hand. Maybe breadboard would work better for something that size or a bigger flishlight? I think would be a lil better then standard pipe. I'll give it a try and see what's up...

I had the idea some time ago to build a pair of those TapeOp electret mics (being discussed in another thread) into some Mini Maglite bodies. I don't see why it can't be done, although space is a concern, as well as orientation of the capsule (I don't see how you could make a side-address mic out of one).

[quote author="buttachunk"]yeah, that would be a flashy mic :thumb:

it would light up vocal tracks

I had actually thought about looking into dynamic mic elements to similar purpose. Hmm. Is there a site of Mag Light tech specs? I think it might end up working better with the electret, the light end fittin an XLR out maybe?

Hey, that's a thought. I was going to use the light end for the electret element and just run a short cord with an XLR jack out the other end. Your idea would likely work better, though.

Either way, it would look cool.

Looking at the PCB and my D cell Maglite it looks like you could fit if you trim the PCB, but then how would you mount it? You may have to put the transformer off board...
