I plan on making it into a CF with a submini tube , a bit like the Royer but self bias via tapped cathode resistance instead of the open grid .
The line audio CM4 was a serious contender but the body would hardly have room for a tube inside ,
either that or heat might become the enemy .
The MK-012 has the choice of capsules/headbasket styles from Oktava but also a few other third party capsules like the the Mike Joly and Red LDC's ,
many of these mics are to be found on the second hand market , I missed a working pair recently for under 200 euros , its about as good a base for a pencil or wiener mic project as you can get .
Ive also my eye on an MKL-52 Ribbon in a local shop , I might be tempted if I can get him to knock a chunk off the price ,
