Mnats Variable+Phantom VS. Mnats Dual 1176 psu VS...?

I only need +24v for some old german modules and spring reverb and... well, most things.
Any advantages between not stuffing the 48v side of the former and not using the -24v side of the latter?

as far as i know a lm317 gives less noise than it's fixed LM78XX & LM79XX counterpart. But then again i have used both types in powersupplies and noise from the power supply has never been an issue. However YMMV.....
