Hello everybody,

I bought three month ago a second hand Motu 24io.  the seller gave me a other non working Motu 24io for free.
I tested both and one unit worked like a charm and the other never been synced and 44,1kHz still blinking.

A week ago i power up my "working " Motu 24io and it did the same issue (44,1kHz blinking and no sync with the PCIe424)
My PCIe424 is working well cause i've got a 2408mk3 plug on it working.
I had some research on the web and found lot of people having this problem with our Motu 24 io.
I 'm an electronic technician so i can fix it by myself but before to start any repair process i would like to know if you know how to fix it or where the problem come from ?

How it's possible without any trouble that the unit stopped working ?

Thank you for your help

Try reinstalling the softare/drivers.

I had a similar issue,  and an issue with channels getting swapped seemingly randomly.  I just reinstalled the pcie424 software and it fixed it.

Some time later... same thing started happening again.  Another re-install... haven't had the issues in well over a year.

Not sure if this will help your problem,  but its a place to start if you haven't tried that yet.

Are you using a Motu firewire cable that should have come with the 24I/O?

I have tried using generic firewire cables from my local computer store and they are very unreliable with the 24I/O, i.e. the 24I/O easily loses sync. Whereas the Motu cable keeps them rock solid.  Not sure what the difference is, but there is a difference!
