I purchased 2 stuffed 1176 pcb's but I don't know who made them (Mnats?) and how to hook them up.

If somebody can identify these and knows about a hookup guide or directions that would be very sweet

Thnx!

Mnats has a website, maybe comparing with Pics, but I think he places his stamp on his PCB board. Could be a one-off.

Not an MNATs... I think mnats have a little kangaroo silk-screened on them aside fomr the "MNATS REV***"

Looks like these guys, maybe.

Could it be this is one of the first Mnats boards (V1.0) from a long time ago?

Some of the numbers and labels on the board seem the same to me

Thnx

These appeared on the white market (and ebay I think) last month. The guy probably didn't pay his WM ad cuz it's not there anymore, maybe Ethan can tell you who it was so you can PM him.

but comparing to an 1176 schematics i has all the numbers on how to wire it!!
But hows the switching done??

Should I follow Mnats Gyraf instructions or Hairball Instructions?
I'm a bit lost with this board, I hope it will work out in the end :(

Also within the package I bought from this guy are two toroidal transformers, Primairy 240v Secondary 22v is this enough to power the units? Because It's says 24v on the pcb.... :-\
the transfo is labelled " LP Transformers type 21015" I think It's quite cheap, as I can't find much info over it...

*Edit*  I found one of those on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.nl/Ringkern-trafo-50VA-220-V-auf-22V-22V-1-13-A-Nr-21015-/260652065506

Anybody familiar with these?

Seems like this is your first project huh??
it would be fairly simple if you ask the guy you bought it from for more info!
you need the switching boards, if there are any or just do some more work here!

Thanks

Hey Yeah It's my first AC powered project , I did a lot of pedals and synthy things...
The Guy I bought this from on Ebay, doesn't answer lately...

It's a pretty complete kit I got for two Units :

Faceplates, Meters, Knobs, Enclosure, transformers, XLR's, 2 stuffed PCB's a stereo link set and The pushbuttons for ratio and VU

The only thing I am missing is the IEC chassis power input with fuse and some shielded hookup wires and stuff

So I really want to put these together as everything is there, It's just that I don't find much info on the boards ...

I've read a topic about the power transformers and it stated that the 30VA 22v should be fine...?

thanx!

I'd say download the manual from JBL, verify it to the schematic and by then you will know how to wire it. for the most part id does look like a modified Gyraf/Mnats Rev J pcb layout. That said if you verfy the project you should have no problem making it go.

Build quality it looks fine, just not a well known project from here.

good luck. BTW the logo on the pcb looks familiar..

do you have the boards for the pushbutton switches? if no, get them from hairball.

Yes the Pushbuttons are already on the boards with the resistors in place..

Thanx!

From looking around I also think It's a Gyraf/Mnats Rev J (or D?)
So Like the G1176, Mnats’ Rev J is based on the UREI 1176LN revision F ?
So I would be looking to compare to the Rev F schematic ?
Thanx!

I still don't think it's an mnats...at least not a rev J... The output transistor should have the alternate holes for different pinouts (517/518 vs 139/140) and the input and output transformers should be on opposite sides of the board. Here's a Rev j overlay attached.

You're right about the tranny holes (sounds weird like this!) Guess I'm a bit dizzy checking all the revisions against eachother...

It's definitely very close to the gyraf board (revision ?) but without the input transformer (and with the balanced opamp input?)
So following the gyraf layout and instructions, I hope to eventually get there...
I just pray that the guy who stuffed these boards did it right and that everything will work when powering up (an utopian scenario I know!)
Still not sure about the power transformers though, should 2 x 22v do the job?
