Need help with 78Lxx

Hi there,
Its been a few days i am fighting with 78L08 and 78L05…

I tried various set up, pcbs, perfboard, various power sources, tried to add capacitors for In and Out, attach a resistor to output, bought other regulators from various brands…

But i NEVER get the expected voltage for Vout!


Vin is stable +12v

Vout is sitting at 11.4V (or once i had 1.2v)

I tried to ask for help and people (with more knowledge than me) also didnt understand…

Does anyone have some idea what might be the issue?

Have you double-checked AND triple-checked the pinout?
