Is it possible to dismantle the mic enough to take some clear pictures of both sides of the switch board at the top? That might give us a clue about how the capsules are switched.
My other thought is that the soldering on the main PCB looks a bit ... rough. Perhaps try re-soldering all the joints that don't look nice and smooth? Particularly the large resistors, which are likely to get hot.
