Ok, So a good while back we bought 2 72 channel NEVE Consoles.
I think we have something like 9 power supplies.

We have made ourselves 1 very large console and want to make up some sidecar consoles to sell.

Trouble is all the good power supplies are in use on our working console.

The remaining power supplies all work fine, BUT they impart noise through the sidecars when we power them up. I want to say this is because they are not providing enough juice to power the sidecar?
We have tested with one of our other supplies and no noise is apparent, so we believe it is a problem with our remaining power supplies.

Is this another classic 'recap' needed to be done here?

Hi Andy,

Well other than figure out that it doesnt seem to be a problem with the sidecars taking too much power, nothing yet.
As I said all the other power supplies seem to work fine with it. But some of them impart a kind of noise in the audio path. not ground hum it does sound like the kind of noise you can get when a circuit is underpowered if you know what I mean?
There are some huge caps in these psu's my guess was that they need replacing, but just wanted to draw on peoples experience here in case they have come across situations like this before..
