The bluegrass world has been calling me “Professor Dan” for a few years now. I’ve decided to embrace it with a logo that merges my identity as a bluegrass music educator, performer, and wannabe tube gear side-hustler.

Here is my favorite from what the designer has come up with so far.

It still need some tweaking. JC stands for “Johnson City, TN.”

Thoughts? Any input would be appreciated.

Nice...  I might put the JC,TN together on one side separated by comma like a proper address, and (C) on the other side for balance and so at least the Chinese will feel a little bad about copying your logo.

I like it. The only comment I have is that the lightning bolt and tube signify electricity. Bluegrass I associate with strictly acoustic instruments. Maybe  add or change something to symbolize Bluegrass?

Here are is a different version.  These allow for the bottom text and size images to change depending on context of what the logo is being used for.

Very very well done!

JC/TN feel like a distraction on the sides...could they be moved, or removed?

One school of thought on logos suggests taking away as much as you can without losing identity.

Maybe the JC/TN could be cleverly worked into the tube?

All the designs are really nice. I would be tempted to place Johnson City, TN along the bottom of them all. Be proud of where you live.

Make sure you register thee designs or whatever is the equivalent on your side of the pond.

Cheers

Vertical lightening bolt splits tree ,
                        Prof. Dan
                        J.C . TN.

making it into a badge ,rounding it looks nice too .

Just "Dan" works too, imo.  with tube and electricity icons for context.

Was just going to say Tubetech,  abbreviating Professor is an idea too.    8)

Prof. could be small, and make up the filament in the tube.

Opinions/suggestions aside, looks great!  Artist did a nice job.
