I'm John, I own a systems integration business with a small electronics repair shop in a rural area near Salem, Oregon. We specialize in vintage audio, though we work on many non-audio items on a regular basis. I employ a full-time bench tech (ex-Tektronix employee). My business partner has learned how to repair speakers to a limited degree, so we do re-foams and re-glues. I mostly work in the field with her doing installs and service calls, but do have a bench in the shop to help with the workload when things are slow in the field (rarely happens these days). I'm 58 and have been working in the electronics field for 40+ years. I still enjoy it, especially getting to work with high end consumer and professional audio gear.
