I was just looking around the Hamptone website and ran across this:

"12/19/04: I had a most encouraging conversation with John Peluso this morning, and he felt there was something wrong with the CEK-12 capsule I was sent, so he is sending me a replacement. He did verify the mounting issues, which could be worked around with the fabrication of a new mount, which I would not be against if the capsules turn out to sound good. He also mentioned they would be making both a U47 and a C12 capsule to exact specs next year, the U47 capsules would be available in February."
(my bolding for emphasis)

An exact copy C12 capsule available to DIYers? And, I can only guess this means the OLD C12, because the new Teflon ones are available from AKG dealers for a totally reasonable price already. If so that's totally awesome and makes me want to hold out for it for my G7.
Anyone else hear anything about this?

It's possible I'm getting over-excited and reading too much into this, and all it means is that he's just going to start making the current capsules the correct size for mounting.

Canada. Dale reported success buying a CK12 capsule from Long and Mcquade up here, no questions asked.

I would assume the key in any case it to make it out like you're repairing a C414B/ULS
