Sorry to post this as it is pretty basic, and not really about analog audio theory.
There are probably other forums to post this is in, but nowhere that has people that really know electronics AND recording studios as well as the people here.
I want to put chromatic tuners in both of my studios that have internal mics in them that will be "always-on", not auto-power-off after a few minutes, and that have DC power jacks.
Unbelievably, after an exhaustive search, I can't find anything out there. There are strobo-tuners that piano-tuners use, which I have never liked and are overkill.
There are guitar pedal tuners, but no microphone in them.
There are contact tuners, but that won't help in this situation and all of them auto-power-off.
There are older tuners (10-20 years old or more) that do this, and I have a bunch around here, but they are not as accurate as the newer tuners. They have a 1-cent tolerance, as opposed to the normal .1-cent tolerance of current ones, and they have the "needle" thing which I don't dig.
I finally found a Korg tuner called the "Slimpitch" which seems to have everything except a DC power jack.
I also found on AliExpress a "CR2032 battery-eliminator".
I was thinking I could put one in, drill a little hole for the wires to exit, and do it this way.
My question is; is there any reason not to do this, especially fire-safety-wise?
