What about power supplies for tube projects? I'd like to begin some experimenting with tubes and I think I should need a variable high voltage PS, am I wrong? What are the usual practices? Should I DIY one with a variable transformer?
Thanks,
Frank
What about power supplies for tube projects?
Frank, There are some older variable PS that were built for this purpose. They have both grid and heater voltages available. Very cool, but maybe hard to come by? One of the guys I work with has one that he has let me borrow...can't remember the brand or model offhand.

HTH!

Thanks for the info, what are the common practices in testing tube circuits? There are plenty of tube developers, so I think they use some modern kinds of power supplies, am I wrong?

I recently bought from them model E0300-0.1 => 0-300V. It has 10 turn knob, so you could get very precision voltage from it. They are from Netherland and I was very satisfied with their costumer care.
