ICE set up a fake university. Attracting mainly students from India, legally.

Now all their student visa are revoked, cause the university is closed and it was fake anyway:

Even the DHS website claimed this was a real university...

There were more than 600 students enrolled at the university, which was created a few years ago by federal law enforcement officials with ICE. Records filed with the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) show that the University of Farmington was incorporated in January 2016.

Emails obtained by the Free Press earlier this year showed how the fake university attracted students to the university, which cost about $12,000 on average in tuition and fees per year.

600 X 12000 = 7.2 million $.

Attorneys for ICE and the Department of Justice maintain that the students should have known it was not a legitimate university because it did not have classes in a physical location. Some CPT programs have classes combined with work programs at companies. 

Anyone who doesn't find this simply morally wrong?

I was horrified, because there were legitimate students who LOST credits and credibility because of this scam...our government should not be in the scam  industry, but hey the POTUS lost a lawsuit over his fake university so the nuts don't fall far from the nut sack.

Some of them just finished their master at another school. Seeking to carry on what they were doing, they had to find another school because the one they were at, lost it's accreditation...

How's that visa fraud?

State Colleges charge more than this for in-staters.  Look at Michigan!

In this particular case, no, the bad guys ARE the law enforcement. Because they charged those students, took their money, and not all those students were trying to commit fraud (if I understood correctly.).

I just read an article about how police in some states can cause massive damage to someone's home while in the pursuit of a suspect, and not have to pay the homeowner back.

A criminal ran into a man's house, and the police used a battering ram to open the door. They also caused massive damage to the windows and caused other structural issues. The man has had to pay for all the repairs without seeing a dime of state/city money as recompense, and he has lost lawsuits about it over technicalities.

My god, if people would just behave with the wisdom of a 5-yo this world would be a better place...

If it seems too good to be true. . .

This is a current topic of thought, although not the scamming part. How to price out a audio educational program/ how to distance ourselves from the current underwhelming audio "engineering" schooling curriculum?

Our LOWEST for official in class program was $30,000. There was simply no way to house and educate with any lower admission cost. We eventually scrapped in class program as Berkley school of musics online program was around $30,000.

Now with the same $30,000 tag for a online training program is our official starting point.

Students are over inundated with needlessly confusing educational website formats. Seems like an easy target given this standard.
