very cheap chinese mics showing up on ebay.

I bought a couple of those cheap Chinese microphones a short while ago, just for the bodies.
About everything on them is crap!
The bodies are made of aluminium, the thread for the bottom ring wears very quickly.
The (SMD) electronics are noisy as hell and the capsule is a (small) cheap electret.
The microphones sound like you are speaking with a bucket over your head!...
I put some real capsules in them and replaced the electronics completely.
Now I can use them!

the fame co2,

quite the opposite as far as diy goes. I built the d87 inside one of these and it works like it should. I built a low-cut and high end emphasis with the switches. no polarity or pad.

on a side note. I was suprised with the stock components. styroflex caps etc... could be decent on it's own already.
