so I want to reuse old military PSU.
diagram that it came with [am I reading it right?] has 3 pins that are +16v and 3 pins that are marked -16v.
across + and - pins I can read 16v [+ or - depending how I measure it].
I was trying to find a ground pin, and there is other pin that when used as ground measures +16 on all +16marked pins but 0v on -16 pins.

I want to wire it for (+16v) (g) (-16v)
is it possible?

No.

To elaborate: Some single ended power supplies are marked in a manner that may be confusing - the positive voltage is marked (+) and the zero voltage reference is marked (-).  It is more like the (+) and (-) terminals on a battery, the battery only supplies one voltage.  The zero voltage reference is sometimes tied to Ground and sometimes left floating.

what kind of circuit do you want to power?

you might be able to adapt the circuit to the supply,

i want +/-16v for an api type preamp, but messing with power supplies scares me a little  ;)
...I'm embarrassed to say but I bought this one because the one I was putting together got a little smokey before it ever worked... ;)
