Does anyone using Eagle knows how to change the pad on a library???
without change anything on the schem and board?
I home etched an LED meter and pads for LEDs are far too thin.
When the hole gots drilled just cant save the pad.

thanks.

You create a new part footprint with whatever pad size you want as a separate library entity, then attach that to the same symbol to make a new device variant. I don't know how to globally edit a footprint on a device in use.

you can globally edit pads to be larger by going to the tab pads in the drc editor and making the respective percentage larger.

Or do as i do and edit all the parts libraries you use regularly and make those damn pads larger. lots of work but worth it. Note: please backup your edited libraries otherwise you can start over after a hard-disk failure.

greetings,

You need to Edit Package.
First you open the library and select the component, then you check which package(s) is used in it. Then you Open Package. Right-click on the pad you want to modify. Sometimes it's hard to select the pad, because it's hidden by the resist pad or something on another layer. You can turn off the offending layers. In the dialog window, chose Properties. Then you can change the type and size of the pads, just by typing or selecting a new value. Do it as many times as you need. Don't forget to Save lib. Should take less than 5 minutes for an LED.
