Okay, here's what I'm willing to do. Everyone who has worked identifying mic capsules, disassembled for precise measurements, hole patterns and etc can e-mail me with the data. Don't cross reference your data to itself just offer the data for a single mic capsule, for instance:
MXL 2001 32 mm, brass ring, **screws, Neumann k67 copy, Shangai type manufacturer UNKNOWN.
(That's an exapmle of the form of reply, btw, if the info is accurate it's moot.) For every capsule you've taken apart, or just looked at, what ever. Pics and links to pics can be included, I think another Brad expressed willingness to host the pic files.
I will compile into a master list, forward to Gus, Marik, and whoever else expresses a strong desire in checking the list for errata before publication. WIll then post on the list for potential inclusion in the meta meta.
It would be best to respond personally with actual capsule data so I don't have to shovel through a huge thread. Let me know if you're into it. Again: it doesn't seem to make sense to respond to the list w/data unless you want to cc the list w/ your post. I'm willing to compile a master list but I don't want to wade through post after post of conversation to do this. I've already done hours and hours of searches on the topic and come up with little conclusive data. so respond to me personally, cc the list if you like, I'll compile data that arrives in my private list inbox.
