Don't know if this is the best place to request this; maybe mods will move.
Just need the owner's manual for this Dolby unit; I ordered the service manual on eBay, but I don't think it really describes how to use it.
Years ago I had an AN-80, which has a rec/play calibration meter built in (as does the AN-60); this unit doesn't, so I can't quite figure how one aligns rec and pb levels on this without a meter; I guess it just uses the VUs on the tape deck?; hopefully not, as the VUs on my Ampex f-44 are not engaged during PB, only Rec.
I have tapes I made over 20 years ago using the AN-80 and used it's tone gen to lay cal tones at the head of the tapes, but since this unit doesn't have a meter, how can I set the proper PB level?
In any case, I would still like to have a PDF of the manual.
