ok so my Line and my Mic Inputs both go to the preamp that is in the channel strip but I want to install a switch that interrupts the line in and routes it after the preamp section. Here is the part that I am unsure of.. i plan on running the output of my external preamp unbalanced but would like to keep the option of running the Line In balanced when switched to the internal preamp. I was thinking of just taking the - polarity to ground when switched to the external preamp since this would essentially be grounded IF i were to be using an unbalanced cable anyway.. the input to the next stage is a unity gain FET opamp, unbalanced.

anyone see any problems> I'm pretty sure this will be ok.
