problem area, tick-tick-tick every second, throws the speaker cone out with a DC pulse,

there is a ground line that leads to the input jack to keep things quiet when you are not plugged in, could be that as it runs all over the board and is tied to a grid,

What is an Ego Booster?
Have you tried it with different boosters?

Sheet 3 where is the V+ used off the heater AC supply?  Is it used for relays?

C.J.  why do they connect the CF at the 68k to the sleeve of the input jack?  I read what you posted and wonder why 68K is not enough of a pull down.

What is a the voltage and cap size at D?  There is a 22K in the cathode leg

Any schematic for the power supply?

What can be a 1 sec tick?

This only happens when a gain stage is in the loop?  Is the reverb on?

Does it change when you move the reverb control from end to end?

Jim Kelley did the 4 6V6 thing in the 70's I think

finally fixed this motor boating effects loop, turned out to be a big solder bridge on the underside of the board, QC missed a glooper,

so what happens is the signal goes out to the effect, comes back in, and gets mixed with the original signal, this causes a big ground loop in the signal, this is ironic as the short was on the section of the circuit marked "LOOP",
i should have picked up on this message,

thanks Gus for the input, glad to have this one solved, now on to the next mind warp,

solder bridge marked in red>
