Hey guys,
I have a problem with the calibration of my original UREI 1176
(revision F).
I followed the "gain reduction meter tracking" calibration procedure as written in the manual ( page 20 ) but at a certain point in the procedure something does not work as expected.
I explain the procedure as I understood and performed it.

I set up the front panel controls in this order:

Input = mid rotation
output = fully clockwise
attack = fully counterclockwise (switched to OFF position)
release = fully clockwise
Compression ratio = 20:1
Meter mode = Gain reduction
R54 (internal trimmer) = 1/4 turn from fully counterclockwise

without any input signal via the R55 trimmer (accessible through a front panel hole between input and output control)

then I apply a signal (1 khz - 10 dbu) to the input, I switch the meter to +4db and the vu meter needle jumps to full scale....
Here the manual says to move the output knob clockwise (but it was already at full scale as instructed)
From here on I don't know what to do anymore.

Does anyone in the forum have calibration experience on this machine??

I attach the two pages of the manual regarding calibration
Let me know
Thanks in advance
